Motivational Interviewing in Groups
Competency: Group Dynamics and Facilitation
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a goal-oriented, client-centered counseling style for eliciting behavior change by helping clients to explore and resolve ambivalence. Motivational interviewing techniques are most commonly used in a one on one interaction with an individual, however the techniques very much apply in the group setting of the National DPP Lifestyle Change program. In this advanced webinar, Lifestyle Coaches will take the basic principles of Motivational Interviewing a step further to apply these techniques in the lifestyle change program in order to maximize participant engagement and group support.
